Hearts & Hammers

OFS Brands and TUSA Office Solutions’ Third Annual Furniture 4 Kids Event Raises $20,000 for Dallas Mavericks Foundation


The third annual Furniture 4 Kids Auction and Design Competition, sponsored by OFS Brands and TUSA Office Solutions, was held on Wednesday, October 22 and raised $20,000 for the Dallas Mavericks Foundation.  28 teams from the areas A&D community designed and created themed kid-sized tables and chairs that were judged and auctioned off for charity.

 

Acting as celebrity judges this year were Mavs Director of Basketball Development Rolando Blackman, Jed Morse of the Nasher Sculpture Center, Laura McDonald Stewart of the American Society of Interior Designers, and Amie Keener of the International Interior Design Association. Additional attendees included Mavs Guard Jason Terry, the Mavs Dancers, Mavs ManiAACs, Champ, and the Mavs Street Team.  Mavs Television Play-by-Play Announcer Mark Followill was back for his third year emceeing the event.

Winners of the 2008 Design Competition included:

All proceeds of the event benefited the Dallas Mavericks Foundation, a foundation dedicated to inspiring and motivating youth to take their education seriously, strive for healthy bodies and minds, become involved in community service activities, set personal goals, visualize their dreams and take responsibility for their own lives and neighborhoods.
